The OECD recognizes the vital role education plays and how it will assist the youth to acquire competencies that will contribute to their individual and collective well-being, and ultimately in changing world ─ identified as “transformative competencies”. In this regard, the youth need to be empowered and encouraged to take initiatives and actions that will increase well-being and sustainability for themselves, others, and the planet.
The fair and expo comprised of four main programmes, which are the STEM Application Competition, a competition to enhance the problem-solving skills of students through STEM education; Capacity Building of Educators, an online, interactive, capacity-building platform designed to develop STEM teachers’ understanding of STEM and STEM education and develop their capabilities to implement effective STEM practices in their classrooms; STEM Career Academies, a professional career development program established to assist and equip the youth with the necessary skills and knowledge ─ to strive for professional careers in the 21st century; and STEM Learning Resources, a free-to-access STEM learning resources established to provide students with authentic STEM learning experiences.
*An onsite event will be held at Pullman Bangkok King Power Hotel on March 10, 2023, to showcase winners of the STEM competition and other capacity-building programmes.
